If you have had growing pain in your shoulder joint, followed by increasing stiffness and loss of motion, you may have frozen shoulder. Learning some acupressure points could help relieve your shoulder stiffness and pain.

What is Acupressure?
In Traditional Chinese Medicine, illness and pain are seen as the result of interrupted flow of qi (energy). As with acupuncture, the aim of acupressure is to restore and balance the flow of qi through the body. Acupressure/acupuncture points are places where the flow of qi can be influenced to regulate body functions and relieve pain.

To perform acupressure, use direct pressure to the indicated point with your finger or thumb. Press the point lightly and increase the pressure slowly until you feel a dull ache around or spreading out from the point. Press and hold the point until you feel relief, or up to a minute.

Shoulder Acupressure Points
To help with your frozen shoulder, try acupressure on the following points: LI-15, LI-14, LI-11, LI-4, and SI-9 and SI-3.(Click on the link to go to a site that will show you where these are.)

In the legs, GB34 and ST 38 have also been found to be helpful.

You can find links to other self-treatment tips for frozen shoulder here.

I wish you ease and comfort and full range of motion in your shoulder, and I am confident that you will be able to feel better.
